i still feel krusty

I am pretty sure I need to see a doctor. I have not been to one in probably 6+ years and I am pretty sure there are multiple things wrong with me. However, all of these self diagnosed concerns may simply be symptoms of seasonal allergies. Either way, I need to get something scheduled to see if I need surgery, drugs, therapy or all of the above.

I also may be recovering from this past weekend, which included the 20th annual Krusty’s Summer Sauce Camp at Whiskey Island. After a Friday night out at Bar Cento, Krusty’s on Saturday and a 5:00am triathlon on Sunday, I suppose one might feel a tad overworked. Next year I am going to try and get the CLE Triathlon moved to a non-Krusty’s weekend, but somehow I don’t see that happening.

After a very fun weekend, I only managed to get a couple photos but at least Metromix was there to capture a fantastic group shot. Why is it always so difficult to take a couple pictures. Oh wait, because my Droid Incredible has no battery life!

good thing this was taken before we were all drenched in sweat.

This one brings a smile to my face, because this may be the first time plum has sang karoeke in front of anyone! Thank you, Lakewood Village Tavern.

they were getting really into it.

Here’s to Tuesday. May all your tacos be crunchy.

it’s hip to be a square

i used to make fun of foursquare. i used to make fun of the early adopters who began using foursquare. and now i have found myself slightly obsessed with this little game that has turned into a pretty hot commodity.

while some may consider this social media app stalker-esque, i find it to be more of a convenience.

for example:

last week i had dinner at dragonfly lounge, checked-in and received a free miso soup with the special offer via foursquare.

two days ago, i checked into dragonfly again (which was supposed to place me at the mayorship title and i failed because of that damn andrew s.) and another friend texted me because she saw my check-in while she was at the old angle tavern across the street. now some may find this a little creepy, but this could have been a missed opportunity to hang out with a friend if she hadn’t seen my foursquare check-in.

consequently, i have also been coordinating happy hours and dinners at places i frequent in the hopes of becoming mayor. is this sad? i think it may be. but for those of you also addicted to foursquare, you probably are on my side.

2 days of nye + 2 days of lazy

i truly felt like a grade school kid last night. i basically stumbled around the house and whined about the fact that i had to wake up early this morning. these childish actions were clearly spawned from the crazy good nye weekend i had. rewind it, flip it and reverse it!

thursday – a little shopping with the cousins at white bread crocker park, followed by a stop at tj’s butcher block in lakewood to pick up a slab of meat comparable in size to the one in the flintstone’s opening sequence, and closed the night off with a visit to reddstone for the new year’s eve eve holla days festival of awesomeness hosted by the lovely lzone and plum. shout out to new cle blogger, why cle? who was also in attendance.

friday – cleaning like a fool in preparation for our first progressive dinner party, which ended being a huge success. the night started at alexa’s where we had delicious cocktails and hearty apps of awesomeness. afterwards, the group headed to our place for the entree portion of the night. we served pork loin with winter fruits, port and bacon, green beans with almonds and pommes frites. the tour ended at hartzell’s where he served chocolate dipped fruits and goodies with a side of moscow mule. we toasted the new year at battery park wine bar and danced the night away in a sea of friends. perfection.

alexa and dom. besties.
table settings are sexy.
our little menu on a paper bag. cheap chic, yo.
love this pic.

saturday – sleep, sleep and more sleep. cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. dinner at the parkview nite club.

sunday – a whole lot of nothing.

a krusty crush

i am not sure why i have never been to krusty’s summer sauce camp before. my first experience was def a good one – and it was quite saucy.

top 5 reasons to attend krusty’s next year:

  1. people watching
  2. great live bands playing hip hop & r&b
  3. all you can eat/drink
  4. its for a good cause (malachi house)
  5. wonderful bonding time with friends
me, hartzel, plum and lzone in the woods.
the krusty crowd.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

there are so many great events in cle in the summer and i am getting a little depressed that we’re verging on september. however, there is one party that you may not know about – the white party! the nug and i are starting to prep for our 2nd annual shindig on 9/18. mark your calendars! and if you have a wedding that day, make sure to stop by late night. i’m talking to you, rabbit.

one of my fav pics from last year's bash.

birthdays, barbecues and boats

this memorial day weekend was pretty epic. i probably could go on for quite some time recapping the shenanigans, but instead i will break it, break it down:

friday – ken stewart’s for brothers bday, map room, too many friends to list, bed by 5:30 a.m.

saturday – shopping, cook-out at kyle’s, party bus with stops at shooters and bling pig

sunday – boating, rescue mission, margaritaville

monday – more boating, rain, sadness

i probably could write about 20 things that surfaced from this past weekend. i am going to collect them and save them for future posts because some are just to interesting to not write about. however, i would like to discuss one of those topics – age.

while dancing with family and friends on the dock at shooters, i realized how old my brother was turning, how old i am and how depressing it can be. the age range that night probably spanned from 18-60, which keeps things interesting. personally, i have friends in this same age range, however, i find that many others have friends within a 5-10 year gap.

isn’t this boring? wouldn’t you want to surround yourself with all walks of life?

you learn an absurd amount of information from friends aged 18 to 65.

you will laugh. allot.

you will become a better person. or at least a more well-rounded one.

and don’t judge. we all judge, including myself, but you will probably find that some of those people you may not consider friend material may just be your next bff.
